Black Fantasy Pine

Black Fantasy Pine is part of the Objekti collection, made with Mexican artisan families still practising Pre-Columbian pottery techniques. Its lid is the most theatrical in the range, a small landscape of leaves, cones and fruit rendered entirely in clay.

Hand-carved in clay with a glazed black finish achieved through copper sulphate glazing and multiple firings, Black Fantasy Pine varies slightly in shape and shade from piece to piece, bespoke colours available on request. Its fantastical lid combines leaves, cones and tree fruits, while the surface of the vessel carries thousands of small hand-applied clay seeds before it goes through burning and glazing.
