Double Volume Coffee Table Blue

Before he ever designed a single piece of furniture, Willy Rizzo spent two decades as one of the twentieth century’s great portrait photographers, training his lens on Audrey Hepburn, Salvador Dalí and the gilded set of 1950s and ’60s Europe. The Double Volume Coffee Table Blue channels that same eye for glamour into three dimensions — a Modernist object built with the confidence of a man who knew exactly how light should fall on a subject.

This coffee table pairs a deep navy blue lacquered top with a base in brushed brass, a contrast of matte colour and warm metal that recalls the chromatic boldness of Rizzo’s jet-set photographs. Signed and numbered, it is built with the same steel-banded, travertine-and-bronze confidence that first defined his 1966 furniture debut in Rome, now rendered in a graphic double-volume silhouette.
