Dune Sideboard

The Dune Sideboard by Pinto recalls a reclining monolith. This “titanic” design is a technical and artisanal feat. The texture of the extraordinary slab of walnut continues to gleam beneath the varnish, whilst delicate inserts of blond straw marquetry create an undulating pattern reminiscing a dune landscape.  Brass and bronze punctuate and ground the “monument,” creating shapes that evoke seashells, horn shells, and amulets left on the sand. The interior, lacquered in a vibrant shade of jade green, reveals the objects it contains endlessly reflected in the mirrors that line it.
