JZ Tea Trolley

In 1959 he founded L’Atelier, the Sao Paulo workshop where he fused the geometric rigor of his European training with the sensuous curves and native materials of his adopted country; Etel now re-edits his archive in native Brazilian hardwoods.

A Brazilian Modernist classic designed in the 1950s, the JZ Tea Trolley pairs a curved sculptural wood structure, shown here in honey imbuia, with a pair of oversized brass wheels that dramatically counterbalance its triangular-sided lower shelf. The removable top tray makes it as practical for entertaining as it is striking as a sculptural object.
