Polygone 1 Desk Carbon

Pierre Bonnefille is a French artist and designer honored with the title of Maître d’Art, celebrated for inventing his own material language: mineral powders (limestone, lava, marble, earth, bronze, pigments) built up into painterly, sculptural surfaces on small limited-edition furniture.

The Polygone 1 Desk in carbon, created by Pierre Bonnefille, Maître d’Art, is not just a desk. Its faceted top draws its particular geometry from the crystallization patterns found in nature, echoing the fractured planes of basaltic rock, worked in natural pigments and metallic powders that recall the rawest of materials, from carbon to copper.

Here the legs are cast in burnished carbon-toned plates, deepening the tabletop’s mineral, almost geological presence, with a copper version also available. Limited to an edition of 8 plus 2 artist’s proofs, this desk is handmade entirely in the artist’s Paris studio, its dark, faceted surface a singular study in texture and shadow.
