Wood C13 Candlestick

The Candlesticks by Lars Nilsson are inspired by nature, specifically the beautiful topiary trees in Hildasholm’s park, Dalarna, Sweden, and the horizon over the lakes. The colour combinations of light reflecting on the water were the starting point for these designs defined by a graphic, sculptural shape made of a variety of materials. During his one year stay at Dalarna, Lars designed and handcrafted the candlesticks with the help of artisans from the local ceramic workshop and from the bronze foundry. He then added hand-carved solid oak elements and stitched felt wool fabric made from the sheep grazing around lake Siljan. The outcome is an ode to the ever-changing horizon.
